For Budhub, this journey began not with marketing strategies, but with a respect for the place where the company has its roots. The company’s founder and CEO, Ivan Grom, is convinced that a successful business cannot exist in isolation from society—it must be an integral part of the community, supporting its development and well-being.
The history of Budhub is closely intertwined with the village of Nahuyevychi—the birthplace of Ivan Franko. The company’s main warehouse is located here, and its founder hails from this very place.
For us, Nahuyevychi is much more than just a dot on the map; it is a place of strength where every village development project is seen as a personal responsibility.
“We’re growing our business where we call home. Our mission is to make life in rural areas more comfortable, to give young people a sense of hope for the future, and to provide a strong foundation for the community,” the company states.
Investing in the Future: Education and Youth
One of Budhub’s top priorities in its social initiatives is supporting local schools. The company takes on the responsibility of addressing those operational and educational issues for which budget funds are often insufficient: infrastructure upgrades, additional funding for roof repairs, and the renovation of the gym; purchasing modern educational equipment and providing sports equipment. In addition, next to the warehouse, we have set up a volleyball court and a recreation area, which are available for active leisure activities for all village residents.
Community Development
Budhub’s social responsibility initiatives are focused on making life in the Naguyevychi community more comfortable. In particular, our company covered part of the costs for a large-scale street lighting project and fully covered the costs of connecting a village street (Sportivna Street) to the central water supply.
We also regularly help maintain public areas—such as parks and the grounds around churches and monuments. In winter, our equipment clears snow from the village streets—this is necessary to ensure timely delivery of supplies to schools, the boarding school, and local stores. And if any of the residents need to dig something up or level the ground, we’re always happy to help by providing heavy equipment for free (tractors, rollers, excavators).
Culture and Memory
Living in the village of Franko entails a great responsibility to preserve its heritage. The company has actively collaborated with the Ivan Franko Museum, notably by funding the preparation and publication of commemorative books on research into the poet’s biography and the history of the village. And a book on the history of the village school, founded back in the 1800s, will be published soon.
Honoring modern-day heroes plays a special role in our work. We helped fund the creation of a memorial to fallen soldiers from our village, because we understand that memory is what binds us together as a nation.
Financial contribution to rural development
Budhub’s conscientious approach is also evident in the legal sphere. We made a strategic decision to change the company’s registered address to the village itself, and taxes (specifically the Unified Social Tax and a portion of the income tax) remain in Nahuyevychi and contribute to the local community’s budget. It is also important that the company’s growth helps create jobs so that people can work in their home village.
Support for the military and charitable projects
In addition to local events, “Budhub” actively participates in other projects. In particular, this includes an annual collaboration with the Maltese Relief Service in the lead-up to St. Nicholas Day.
And also ongoing support from the “Birds of Victory” Foundation. Participating in such charity auctions and making direct purchases (ammunition, vehicles) for the army is part of the strategy to bring us closer to a shared victory.
We carry out most of these initiatives quietly, and often don’t even have photos of the results, because we do this first and foremost for ourselves and our community. After all, for us, social activism is a way of life. Remembering our roots, supporting those around us, and developing our homeland—that is the true value of “Budhub.” Every day, we do what we can because we believe that major changes in the country begin with the development of each individual community.
